"I got to know Emily all the way back in 2011 when as a new mother she fearlessly ran for school board and faced down the big money forces that have been trying to privatize our public schools. During that campaign, Emily knocked thousands of doors, working day and night to campaign to protect her community’s public schools. Emily is once again standing up for our schools -- campaigning for state legislature on a strongly pro-public-education platform. This fight for our teachers and our schools is personal for Emily -- she is the daughter of a public school teacher, she is the product of public education and she is now the mother of a public school student in Denver. She also helps run an early childhood education center in Denver. Emily’s experience and her record tells you that she is not the kind of person who just says nice things about public education during an election and then turns around and works to undermine our public schools. She is the opposite -- Emily’s time fighting for public schools means we know we can count on her to fight the good fight everyday she’s in the legislature.”
